Quick Start Guide
Get your first building online with Aida Platform in under 10 minutes.
Prerequisites
- Aida Platform installed (see Installation Guide)
- A building with smart devices (or use our demo data)
- Admin access to the platform
Step 1: First Login

Open the Platform
- Navigate to http://localhost:5173
- You'll see the Aida Platform login screen

Login with Default Credentials
Username: admin
Password: admin123 -
Change Default Password
- Go to Settings → Security
- Update your password
- Enable 2FA (recommended)
Step 2: Create Your First Building

Navigate to Buildings
- Click "Buildings" in the sidebar
- Click "Add Building"

Building Information
Name: My First Building
Address: 123 Smart Street, Tech City
Type: Office
Floors: 3 -
Save and Continue
- Click "Create Building"
- You'll be redirected to the building dashboard
Step 3: Add Floors and Zones

Create Floors
- Go to Building → Floors
- Add floors: "Ground Floor", "First Floor", "Second Floor"

Create Zones
- Go to Building → Zones
- Add zones for each floor:
- "Reception Area"
- "Open Office"
- "Meeting Rooms"
- "Break Room"
Step 4: Add Devices
Option A: Use Demo Data
- Go to Settings → Demo Data
- Click "Load Demo Building"
- This will populate your building with sample devices
Option B: Add Real Devices

Add a Light
- Go to Devices → Lights
- Click "Add Light"
- Configure:
Name: Reception Light
Zone: Reception Area
Type: LED Panel
Power: 24W

Add an HVAC Unit
- Go to Devices → HVAC
- Click "Add HVAC"
- Configure:
Name: Main HVAC
Zone: Open Office
Type: VAV Box
Capacity: 2.5 tons
Step 5: Test Device Control

Navigate to Control Panel
- Go to Control → Device Control
- You'll see all your devices

Test Light Control
- Find your light in the list
- Click the power button to turn on/off
- Adjust brightness slider
- Watch the real-time status update

Test HVAC Control
- Find your HVAC unit
- Adjust temperature setpoint
- Change fan speed
- Monitor current temperature
Step 6: Set Up Energy Monitoring

Configure Energy Sources
- Go to Energy → Sources
- Add energy meters or use demo data

View Energy Dashboard
- Go to Dashboard → Energy
- See real-time consumption
- View historical trends
Step 7: Create Your First Automation

Go to Automation
- Click "Automation" in the sidebar
- Click "Create Rule"

Basic Lighting Rule
Name: Office Hours Lighting
Trigger: Time-based
Schedule: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday-Friday
Action: Turn on all office lights -
Test the Automation
- Enable the rule
- Wait for the scheduled time
- Verify lights turn on automatically

Step 9: Set Up Users and Roles

- Click "Add User"

Name: John Smith

Role: Facility Manager
Permissions: Full building access -
Create a Regular User
Name: Jane Doe
Email: jane@company.com
Role: User
Permissions: Zone control only
Step 10: Configure Notifications

Go to Settings → Notifications
- Enable email notifications
- Set up alert thresholds
- Configure maintenance reminders

- Trigger a test alert
- Verify email delivery
- Check notification settings
