Webex Messaging Integration
Chat with the Aida assistant from Cisco Webex Messaging spaces. Each space is tied to a site, building, or controller, so answers use the same context as Platform chat.
This is separate from Webex Workspace Integration, which controls building systems from room devices.
Prerequisite
- Site members whose Webex email matches their Aida account email
If your Webex login uses a different address, add that email when you create a room (alternate Webex email) or invite that address as a space member.
Enable Webex Messaging
- In Aida Platform, open the site (Sites → site detail, or the messaging icon on a site card).
- Click Webex Messaging.
- Confirm the dialog shows Bot configured.
- Click Add room to create your first space (see below).
You can open the same dialog later anytime to manage spaces and members.
Create rooms
A site can have one or more Webex spaces. Each space has a scope that sets assistant context:
| Scope | What Aida knows about | Space title pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Site | The whole site | Aida Site: {SiteName} - {siteId} |
| Building | One building on the site | Aida Building: {BuildingName} - {buildingId} |
| Controller | One controller on the site | Aida Controller: {ControllerName} - {controllerId} |
Add a room
- In the Webex Messaging dialog, click Add room.
- Choose the scope (Site, Building, or Controller).
- For building or controller scope, select the building or controller.
- Optionally enter an alternate Webex email if your Webex address differs from your Aida email.
- Click Create (or confirm).
Aida creates the Webex space, invites you (platform email, plus the alternate if set), and registers the space for @aida replies.
Copy the space title from the dialog if you need to find or share the space in Webex.
Manage members
Select a space in the list to see its members.
- Add member by email — invite someone by Webex email
- Site users — quick-add people already on the site who are not in the space yet
- Remove a person with the delete action (the Aida bot cannot be removed)
Refresh or delete a space
- Refresh updates the space title and membership setup if needed
- Delete space removes the Webex space after you confirm (this cannot be undone)
Chat with @aida in Webex
-
Open the Webex app (desktop, web, or mobile).
-
Open the space whose title matches the room you created (for example
Aida Site: …). -
Type a message that mentions the bot, for example:
@aida what's the comfort status? -
Send the message. You post as yourself; Aida replies as the bot.
In group spaces, the bot only receives messages that include @aida. Without the mention, Aida will not reply.
Replies use the same assistant tools and permissions as Platform chat, limited to that space’s site / building / controller scope. You must be a site member (matched by email) for full assistant access.
Tips
- Create a site space for general questions, and optional building or controller spaces when you want narrower context.
- Share the space title with teammates and invite them from the Members section so their Webex email matches their Aida account.
- Prefer @aida (lowercase) when typing the mention.
