Sites and Buildings

Sites and buildings organize your portfolio in Aida Platform. They define where controllers belong and how intelligence and dashboards roll up — not the detailed floor plans inside a building.

Sites

A site is the root workspace for a location (campus, building campus, or customer facility) in the platform.

From Sites you can:

  • List and open sites you belong to
  • Manage site users and roles (when you are a site admin/owner)
  • Open site detail to see Buildings and Controllers
  • Launch site integrations such as Webex or Kisi (where enabled)
  • Deep-link to Assistant for that site

Create Site is available to account managers, sales managers, and admins. Most operators are invited to an existing site.

Site detail

On a site’s detail page:

TabContents
BuildingsLogical buildings for the site; link to Buildings management
ControllersControllers on this site; provision install, Facility, Remote, License

Buildings

A building on the platform is a logical scope: a named group of one or more whole controllers on the same site. Use buildings for:

  • Energy / comfort / maintenance roll-ups on Agents
  • Scoping questions in the Assistant
  • Organizing a multi-controller site (for example Tower A vs Tower B)

Buildings are not where you draw floors or place devices. Facility structure (floors, zones, groups, devices) lives on each controller and appears in the platform on the Facility page.

Rules of thumb

RuleMeaning
Controllers belong to one siteAssignment is always within that site
A controller has at most one buildingMany controllers may share one building
Unassigned controllersStill on the site; excluded from building-scoped rollups until assigned

Manage buildings

  1. Go to Buildings (optionally with ?siteId= from the site page).
  2. Select the site.
  3. Add building — name, description, address; assign controllers on that site.
  4. Edit or remove buildings as membership changes.

Mental model

Site "Campus North"
Building "Tower A"
├── Controller cid-001
└── Controller cid-002
Building "Tower B"
└── Controller cid-003
(unassigned) Controller cid-004
