Licensing, trials, and renewal
Aida licenses controllers (and site rollups) as Trial, Basic, or Pro. There is no Free tier — when a term ends, licensed features stop until you renew.
Packages
| Package | What you get | Term |
|---|---|---|
| Trial | Full Pro feature set for evaluation | Default 90 days |
| Basic | Core building control, schedules, and ops modules | Annual |
| Pro | Basic plus AI assistant, monitors, MCP, and related platform intelligence | Annual |
After trial or paid expiry the controller hard-stops gated APIs (config is retained). Use renew links on the License Expired page or contact sales.
How to renew or convert a trial
- Sign in to Aida Platform as an account manager (or sales manager / admin).
- Open the controller (or site) and use Renew for an existing Basic/Pro term, or Apply Basic/Pro to convert a trial.
- The platform signs and delivers a new license blob (MQTT, remote tunnel, or pull on reconnect). Air-gapped sites can paste/upload the blob on the controller License Expired page.
- Controllers keep working offline through the new
termEnd; connectivity is only needed to refresh the blob.
Billing: When Stripe yearly prices are wired, unpaid / past-due subscriptions do not cut mid-term. Access continues until the paid period end, then expires (no Free fallback). Offline or enterprise deals can still be issued manually; operators may attach purchase-order, sales-order, or third-party accounting references for reconciliation (these do not change access by themselves). Contact sales@aida-platform.com or visit aida-platform.com for commercial renewals.
Roles (operators)
- Account managers create trials (within concurrent quota) and apply/renew paid licenses for their portfolio.
- Sales managers / admins may adjust trial quotas and override
termEndfor exceptions (audited).
