Facility
Facility is native core functionality on the controller — floors, floor plans, and typed zones. It is always available and is not a disableable module.
This page is the authoritative spatial model for the building. Aida Platform shows a synced snapshot for cloud users; Platform Buildings are only logical controller groups, not a second floor-plan editor.
Floors
Under Facility → Floors:
- Create floors and upload or import floor-plan images
- Place devices (and resource pins) on the plan
- Link groups for filtering
- View live state on markers for spatial commissioning and ops
You can import plans from Cisco Spaces instead of uploading images where that module is configured.
Zones
Under Facility → Zones:
- Define typed zones (lighting, glare, harvest, shading, occupancy, and similar)
- Set membership across groups and devices (N:M as needed)
Zones support analytics, Solaris, monitors, and exports. They are not the same as Commissioning Groups (control domains).
| Groups (Commissioning) | Zones (Facility) | |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Commands, schedules, batch control | Space / analytics / module scope |
| Membership | Devices in a control domain | Typed spatial or functional sets |
