Commissioning
Commissioning is install-time and structural setup on the controller: discover devices, organize them into groups, apply configuration templates, update firmware, and use support terminals. It is separate from day-to-day Operations.
Sidebar section: Commissioning.
Groups
Groups (product term; APIs may still say clusters) are logical control domains — a room, open-office band, façade, or functional set used for commands, schedules, and batch control.
- Create and name groups
- Assign / remove devices
- Run group-wide commands
- Attach a default configuration template
Groups are not the same as Facility zones. Zones are spatial / analytics memberships; groups are operational control domains.
Discovery
Scan the building LAN for devices by manufacturer and protocol.
- Start or schedule scans; watch progress and live logs
- Review discovered devices and assign them to groups (bulk or auto-assign)
- Maintain scan history
- For MHT CoAP, manage Keyw → group mappings when used
Enable the relevant modules (INX, Somfy, Mecho, CoreSync, and others) before expecting those manufacturers to appear.
Devices
Inventory and commission individual devices:
- Search and filter the device list
- View live state; send supported commands (dim, CCT, shade, and so on)
- Edit settings, membership, and history
- Refresh properties and run batch actions where supported
Configuration
Define configuration templates (including YAML import/export) and assignments to groups or device sets. Run apply jobs and monitor progress and logs so fleets share consistent parameters.
Terminal
Field and support tools on the controller:
- CoAP and HTTP/HTTPS request terminals
- Browser SSH sessions
- Session list / history for active support connections
Firmware
Manage the firmware catalog (upload / delete images) and run the OTA wizard for supported device types (MHT-focused), with per-device progress, retry, and cancel.
